What is Cavitation?
Ultrasonic cavitation, or ultrasound cavitation, is a cosmetic procedure that’s used to break apart fat deposits in your body using ultrasound waves.
How does cavitation work?
Cavitation involves applying pressure on fat cells through ultrasonic vibrations. The pressure is high enough to make the fat cells break down into a liquid form. The body can then get rid of it as waste through your urine. The broken-down fat cells go from the body to the liver where they are excreted as waste.
The ideal candidate for ultrasonic cavitation:
- Good overall health
- Doesn’t smoke
- Has realistic expectations
- Already within 15 pounds of their goal weight
- Ultrasonic cavitation is meant to target small areas of fat and help contour your body. It isn’t a treatment for people who are trying to lose a lot of weight.
What to do before & after treatment:
Make sure to drink plenty of water. Avoid eating 1-2 hours before and after you treatment. A light workout and wearing a waist trainer for at least 4 hours post treatment is recommended.
